Fonts for bakery and café logos
A bakery logo needs to feel inviting and remain readable on a bag, a window, and a small social profile. Begin with the name in a distinctive face, then choose a quieter font for supporting information.
Start with the name, not a trend
Try Fraunces for a soft, expressive wordmark. DM Serif Display offers a more editorial feel. Pacifico can work for a short café name, but a brush script becomes harder to read as the name gets longer.
Give supporting text a simpler job
Pair Fraunces with DM Sans for opening hours, ingredients, and menu descriptions. Let the logo carry the personality; keep prices and practical information easy to scan.
Test the smallest version
Check the name at roughly the size of a profile icon and print a black-and-white sample. If fine details disappear, use a heavier weight or a simpler face. Avoid using a delicate script for ingredients or allergens.
Build a two-font system
Use one expressive face for the name and major titles, and one readable sans serif for everything else. Consistent spacing and hierarchy usually matter more than adding a third font.
